Dropping things into water

Well here is an attempt at dropping things in water, I think it turned out ok. Anything better I could have done?

I used my radio trigger for off camera flash and dropped the fruit with one hand and triggered the camera with my other.

Excellent idea! Now I want to try it myself!

It seems messy, though. I'd probably have to do it in my garden, or else everything would be wet.

It's a fascinating shot, looks very good.

Do you have one of the lime being dropped on it's own?

Were you getting any water splashed on the lens?

I helped my daughter do some "exploding" water shots for her photography coursework, I got soaked, while she stood back with the camera on its tripod just far enough away... I dont know whether she just liked getting me wet, or whether she wanted "the" shot, but I know I ended up very cold and very wet!

All things considered I think I'm hard pressed to find any specific fault with it. I'm sure you could have done it 50 more times and managed a better splash, but probably not a lot better.

If I'd have done anything it would have been to remove/desaturate/hue adjust the red reflection on the right edge of the splash as it's inconsistent with the colors within the rest of the shot and makes me wonder where it's from.

Looking at it I think I can do it better, the red bit is from the black pillow case I should have removed it or used a sheet. I will try again.
