Issue with Edit in Photoshop from Lightroom

Not sure but I think this came about when Adobe created the CC version and it left 2 versions on users computers and the user deletes the previous version. At least this is what I did and finally found a fix for it.

Anyway, I removed the previous version and then all of the sudden I wasn't able to pass a photo to photoshop. I would select Edit in Photo Shop CC and the app would open but no pictures would be populated, so did the normal reboot and all of that loverly stuff and no resolution.

Went to Adobe and based on this write up I am not the only one. So after following the below instructions it now works and I dont have multiple copies of Photo Shop on my computer. I followed both only because there wasn't anything in my start up folder, so I downloaded the zip file put the files in there and then re-installed photoshop CC and all is good.

Edit In doesn't work in Lightroom 5.5 from Photoshop CC 2014

Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else runs into the issue.

I guess I still have both versions on my Mac because when I want to do photoshop edits from LR5.5 I can choose which version I want to use... Since things are working OK for now, I won't delete the older version right away.

Well this was the only thing to get messed up, but everything worked fine and I could point and click to open the same file it just wouldn't do it automatically for me. After removing the previous version and following the simple steps it works so if you ever want to remove it just remember this if the issue crops up.

I can only speculate this is what happened because thats the only thing I know I did to create this issue. Really no need to remove it I just have this thing about only keeping what I use, its an OCD thing. They call me Mr. Neat and Tidy at work because I am always asking people to remove files no longer in use to clean up disk space.

I haven't uninstalled anything, not even the old CC version (though I plan on doing that this week since onOne fixed its CC2014 bug). I haven't read the link, but I suspect it should be fixable with a reinstall of CC 2014, no?

Yes, I should have specified, I uninstalled the previous CC version. I never owned the stand alone package of Photoshop. So yes, the link discusses how to fix the issue if it happens.

Might sticky or tag somehow as this one will be easily missed and will save those a lot of time looking for a resolution. There are startup scripts that appeared to have been removed when I removed the old CC version. So I did the manual copy of those and did the re-install only to save time, they are 2 separate fixes but didn't want to spend the time so I just did both.

You could also go into LR's preference and select which version you want to use as an external editor.
