We were the only people at the park. No one in the play ground, the parking lot was empty and only saw one boat.

We spotted the train way down the line and waited about fifteen minutes. It never moved.

It was a record 94 yesterday so we didn't stick around any longer. It was a tough pedal home.

nice lighters, i always remember my dad loved his zippo

Thanks Roy. I have a Zippo that was issued to WWI soldiers some where. It used to be in a printers drawer I had mounted on the wall. Took it down about ten years ago. I should look for it.

104!! That's what it felt like with sun blaring down on us. The wind was hot and no rain that day to cool things down.

During yesterdays bike ride we stopped at a covered bus stop to get out of the sun. Saw this when looking up through a net.

If that was Chris outside the gated community, he seems to have lost quite a bit of weight. Congrats to him. What's his secret weight loss weapon?

Interested mind wants to know. :)

Thanks Marcel, yes that is Chris. He lost over fifty pounds by riding his bike at least 20 -25+ miles per day. I only lost 20. We do everything by bike - doctor/dentist visits, dining out/picnics, haircuts, etc.. We only use the vehicle for weekly food shopping and if we have to go somewhere and it's raining. We went to Walmart a couple of weeks ago and brought home a toaster oven on the back of the bike. People think we're crazy riding so much in this heat, but we enjoy our rides.

Temps have been in the low 90's and the heat index brings it up over 100. That's why people think we're crazy. I've had to drop back to about 10 -15 miles due to my high blood pressure meds, I get a little woozy in the heat.

That's great Marilynne. He must feel great without all the excess baggage to pedal around.

I'm trying to bike everyday too, but today it's raining and I had someone fall into my front wheel spokes on Saturday while doing an organized tour (too many people trying to start at the same time) so my bike is in the shop for today. But since it's raining, it's the best day to have a tune-up done on it.

Cycling could very well be the best kept secret for longer healthier life (well exercice in general).
