Nikon Picture Control Utility 2

Nope. Don't shoot jpeg, so it doesn't really play into my photography. Sure, I can apply it as a custom profile to a RAW file, but I'm not big on presets of any kind.

There are a couple of videos that cover the minutia, but essentially, it's built-in to the Nikon View and Capture products... and lets you build/alter your own Picture Controls, and load them to your own camera...(it uses the same basic workflow of downloading a file to the memory card as the firmware process uses) and then inserts the new Pic Controls into the Pic Control Menu.

Here's a short 9 minute YouTube video that demonstrates the process... the video demos the first version of this... Nikon just released the next version this week, and it appears Nikon intends to expand the options available with the software that aren't natively present in the basic camera firmware...

Of course, it's relative to JPEG and if you shoot RAW, and heavily PP, then might not see much use for it...

I see a lot more use in the cinematic area than the still area...

Thanks for the pointers!

Definitely sounds like it could be useful for anyone primarily using the Nikon tools for processing RAW images.
