My mother in law is worse than that shark

)
I am sure she is far worse. Sand Tigers (or sometimes just called Sand Sharks) despite their fearsome appearance, are quite docile as sharks go. They are everywhere off our coast and have never been implicated in attacks on anyone, unlike
Bull Sharks who have attacked several people and have been classified as man-eaters. I shot this image while on a decompression dive on USS Oriskany. She was about 6 feet long and quite curious and stayed with us for pretty much the entire dive, never once showing any aggression toward us. When we went to our decompression stop, she followed us up there too. When we finally got into the boat she followed us all the way to the surface. We had some sandwiches on board so we tossed a few of them overboard and she promptly devoured them. The salami in one probably gave her a bad case or heartburn!
Sharks get a really bad rap, most of it very ill deserved. Whenever I dive I consider the dive a waste unless I see some. We have a pretty fair number of Hammerheads too, and they too have never shown any aggression towards us. I do get a little nervous around Bulls, but if you don't do anything stupid they have always left us alone.
