Crap day

Had a day at Bempton yesterday for sea birds and was hoping to get my third challenge entry here today

http://www.yorkshirewildlifepark.co.uk/

Thought we would give mother inlaw a day out as the park is supposed to have good wheelchair access,we arrived about twenty to ten and mum inlaw said she felt sick so we rapidly got the wheel chair set up and her in it (got a new car you see) you have to be realistic.
Nancy took her to the toilet and getting out of the wheel chair she passed out and ended up on the floor, we couldn't bring her out of it so rang for an ambulance, spent all day at Doncaster hospital and they kept her in,looks like the rest of the week will be spent doing 120 mile round trips.
Shouldn't complain too much i guess because at least we will be sleeping in our own bed tonight more than she will.its just we had such plans for this week and i have already missed two days of my swans nest project.

Thanks every one,not sure why but her blood pressure was low,she has some sort of infection in her blood and severe stomach pains, could range from serious to nothing much.

Oooo...I hope it isn't sepsis! Your situation sounds similar to mine. I am a caregiver for my mother, and she has quite a few medical problems. Getting out to photograph depends largely on how things are going with my mom. She wound up with sepsis after a fall while a patient at a hospital, and sepsis can really tire someone out. Prayers your mother-in-law will regain her strength and have her blood pressure stabilized. And prayers for you and your wife as you help her get through this. :)

Think its going to be up and down a lot now,she has just had a series of diabetic hypos i think due to her not eating enough and losing weight so the insulin dose was wrong for her body weight, thats been changed now.She was waiting to go back to hospital for the camera up her bum (polite) but we took her to her own doctor the other night and he advised her to cancel the appointment when it comes through,he said at her age 85 and health state to just put it down to worn out bowels after being used every day of her life,he also indicated that with her general condition they would not pursue any findings so why go through it.

Glad to hear she's home and sorta doing well.

The same thing occurred with my 90 year old mother-in-law last year, but they did the colonoscopy. They removed a cancerous tumor and wanted to do chemotherapy. The family said NO. She's still running around today, actually walks really fast with her walker. She'll be 91 real soon.
