Aquarium visit... Don't know what kind of chap this is, so if anyone does, I'd be happy to know!

If it was in a fresh water tank, my guess is a Cichlid of some type. Has all the features of one. There are so many Cichlids, I wouldn't want to get specific as to which one. Nice shot, Steve!

Thanks Chris!
Looking at it, I think you are right - It was in the "Amazon basin" part of the aquarium, with the poison frogs etc., so one of the Cichlids would be a good guess :)

I have visited a few aquariums now with my camera, and it is not easy to get good shots - I think from this visit I have maybe 5-6 shots that I'm pleased with!

Love all the scenery... my family origins go back to the Scottish/Welsh parts of the world, so need to get out there some day.

You should definitely travel over Pretzel! There is lots of nice scenery over here, you're never far away from the coast, a modern city or mountains and lakes!

Some Awesome shots Steve! Very cool, and I'm loving the owl shot! :D

LOve the close up of Lumpy the owl :D

Thanks Vixen & Bill :)

Lumpy did take a liking to my wife... They said at the start of the display that if it looks like the bird is going to fly into you, duck because it probably will.
Just after these shots he swooped down towards us and just caught her on top of the head as she ducked, then he turned and came back to try again! lol

:) She is ok thanks Bill, he just messed her hair up a bit on the top! By the end she wanted to steal lumpy and take him home.

One man and his owl... This is Lumpy's handler, who was helping Lumpy get his fitness back. He was bought from a zoo which was closing and his fitness wasn't quite as it should be, so he is building up his "Flying hours" ready for the summer show season.

Brilliant photo.
Get fit soon Lumpy.

Thanks Lawrence, Lumpy was the more photogenic of the birds on display - He certainly knew how to pose. And since he liked my wife's hair so much, I used her as bait which is why he always seems to be looking into the camera!
