First shots with the D5300

These are some of my very first pics with the D5300, but hoping to get some feedback/input none the less. I haven't done any editing on these, they are straight off the camera.

First for the 28-55mm lens:



My focal point here was the fountain itself.



Versus here trying to focus on the water stream itself

I like these three! The fountain closeup is great. Are you shooting raw?

I was using the default settings so expected it to be shooting raw but they were jpeg on the card.

Nice start. Out of the box Nikon does not have it shooting at it's best, as you found out, with the jpeg. However, they look really good. Like the close-up on the fountain.
