What are these 2 shots? Am I right thinking that the bottom one was taken with the defective one and the top one (sharper) was taken with the new one?

Well, I did return the D3100 and pick up a new one. The first shot I could tell a difference. There was definitely something wrong with the focus on the previous camera. I think it's a world of difference, see what you think.[/QUOTE]

Huge improvement with the new camera. You did good by returning it for an exchange. You would have been unhappy for a long time.

Well I returned mine for service and it was worse when I got it back so the exchanged it for a new one. There was a world of difference in the two. The new one is great. What is it with Nikon sending out so many D3100s that are not focusing correctly? Not good business.
