Now you've got to go buy 20 lenses to put these on! In all seriousness, I bought a couple of the new rear caps expecting them to be a whole lot better, but like you, I still prefer the old ones. Did all of these come from the same place?

A used Gitzo 1220 aluminum tripod arrived today. I bought it for $100 USD shipped which included the original box. I'll be using it as my dedicated video tripod.

These Gitzo tripods are just too awesome and are built to last a lifetime.

I bought a D5300 for the girlfriend, but...

I'm keeping the 18-140mm that's coming with it and passing along my 18-105mm if she she wants it. She probably won't, though, because a 35mm f/1.8G is just about permanently attached to her soon to be out-bound '3200. She adores that little 35mm so I may wind up selling the 18-105mm... Anyway, I hope she'll be happy with the '5300; she so seriously needs the upgrade. UPS says it'll be here in a couple days.

Sure. 5cents less than Nikon wants for one.

Sauntered into the local camera store this morning and found me one of the lenses on my Wish List: Nikon 50/1.8 Series E.

This will be part of my 'ultra-light/compact' set of lenses.

Lowepro Toploader Pro 70 AW.....needed something smaller than the Flipside 300, and smaller than the Nova 160 AW, but larger than the Toploader Zoom 45 AW (yes I have all those) to tote around the D4 or D800 w. grip with lens. I love Lowepro bags!
