Sold my D80 and bought a D7100. I retained my 18-135 as I got a great deal on my D7100 body.I am contemplating purchasing a VR lens. I have looked at the "new" 18-140. I know the "superzooms" are never going to offer the performance of a prime but I really like the flexibility of these zooms for general everyday use. I now have a quandry:-Nikkor 18-140, Nikkor 18-200, Sigma 18-250. Thoughts or recommendations gratefully received. Thanks

i like the 18-140 i got with my 7100. I like the 18-105 i had before getting the 7100. Price for a refurb 18-105 is about $200 vs $600 for a new 18-140 if i was on a budget the 18-105 would be my choice.

Out of your choices, I'd try the 18-140. The 18-200 was a very popular all purpose lens, but I think the newer 18-140 is designed for the higher density sensors.

I say to save for a 70mm-200mm 2.8 or F/4 to compliment that lens..Dont see the point in having two lenses covering same focal length..I don't feel vr is a needed function on that focal range..Bump shutter speed and you should have no problem..

Yep, the more I think about it, the more I begin to realise that I should just stick with the 18-135. I have a Sigma 150-500 for the "longer" stuff. I think I just like buying new kit :)
