Moab Man, MoabLady, and I have been having a discussion about innate roles in the genders relative to photography. This is what academics do for fun… nerdy things.

So if you would, please take our poll so we can look at the results and then move on to further develop a theory we’re discussing and will share once we have some kind of a conclusion.

If you know of another photographer, and their shooting style, please add it in the comment area. For example, a wife, husband, or partner that shoots, but is not on this forum. It will help for our data collection.

This is something we're doing just for our own fun. Nothing serious, our curiosity.

When we explain our theory, you will understand how it's a can of worms, and interesting. We will allow the poll to go for a week. We need some more female input to get some good data. Yep, GEEKY stuff again.

The can of worms is already showing in the poll. According to the poll (and not me) men are better at planning their photos than women. In some cases this might be true. My wife and I both shot the same places for the same amount of time last week. I shot around 2,000 photos but my wife shot more than I did.

Thanks for the input Don, have you voted for your wife yet? We can use her opinion too. Yep, the poll is very telling already. :)

Now you should know that a good husband would never speak for his wife. Besides that last time I used the term "Spray and pray" to her I almost lost a limb. As it was she just broke my leg.

I believe we the label of "slow learner" might apply. And if I remember correctly Don has been married for quite some time so really slow learner might apply. However, I fall into the category of just dumb.

I have a good buddy who is also female and a selective shooter, and my sister, who is also another selective shooter. Both hobbyists like myself. Come to think of it, almost all the females I know that have cameras are all selective shooters

me, spray - sister, selective. She is more into "forms" she selects what she wants to shoot. Anything that catches my eye, boom - boom - boom.
