My first full M Shot. Manual focusing is not that tricky as I thought. But I made a mistake. I didn't think of ISO .

I'd like to say it gets easier.....well it DOES. But I still manage to forget something every time :D so don't feel bad that you forgot ISO ;)

I don't shoot in full M all that much but I have to say, and maybe it's just me, but... It always makes me feel like I'm running with the big dogs.

It helps me shooting BiF.

Just don't know the meaning of running with the big dogs.

I googelt and came up with this"

running with the big dogs
A phrase used to describe one whose penis size is of adequate girth and length such that it is not frowned upon by fellow men.

and an other one:

Running with the big dogs means keeping up with others, usually others who are bigger, more important, or more experienced that you are. This saying means, if you can't keep up with them, you better stay back and watch....otherwise you may end up trampled. Similar to "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen" ... but slightly different.

a year of wisdom: if you can't run with the big dogs, you'd better stay on the porch

I am laughing so hard right now... I also apologize for the confusion. Sometimes I forget how cosmopolitan our community here is.

Please allow me to confirm the second definition you found far more closely matches what I was trying to say. FAR more.

Quite nice photos. Most of my life I did MF. Now I am learning AF!

MF is all about anticipating where the subject will be, focus there and when the subject (bird in this case) comes shoot.

In fact in difficult situation - lots of clutter and/or low light pre-focussing at a point works better, as the AF will be hunting a lot and you loose the shot.
