Wow! That shot, even at interwebz resolutions, looks like a magic mirror that I could step through and into your dining room!

Shots that have this much clarity and such sharp resolution, what is it? Is this the quality of the sensor, the lens? That is simply stunning!

Thanks Mike, I think it's a combination of all components. One you forgot to mention is post processing. I had to bring up the shadows a bit and in that field, the D600's sensor is a REAL CHAMP. But again, only my opinion.

Here are a few pics I took with my D610 and post processed with LR. Critiquing the flaws are welcome....

Ellicottville NY. The southern tier of NY. Probably one of the nicer places on the East coast considering party town, restaurants, entertainment etc...

Well, I had been working a part time gig in addition to my full time job and decided to finally take the plunge and get an FX format (I had been wanting to but I thought no I should get more glass or something-- but in reality I think I have enough glass to use on an FX camera anyhow). I picked up a D610 this evening. Jacked up ISO to 2500, 50mm, f/1.4, 1/320 in a dimly lit room with closed blinds as the background. Not too shabby honestly for just putzing around.

How is the focusing? With the 39 points vs the 51 our D7100's have..Is it a pain to get the square in single point focus on the eye without re-composing?...Tnx

The focus points only become a bother for me when photographing smaller subjects like small dogs and birds. With people shots I have found it isn't so bad.

So nevermind getting awesome straight 24mp jpegs out of slightly tweaked P mode that only weigh 10mb a pop using space-savvy compression settings, but the 25$ Gary Fond noodle bowl I got really does work exactly as intended! Even, soft light exactly as I'd want it to be.

Shooting simple, BS-level gigs will be a total snap now.
