Marilynne's Wetlands and Other Stuff

Sad to see this, but they have been rescued (Saving an Eagle's Eye for the Fourth of July | Palm Beach Zoo)

Our local zoo has three rescued Eagles. They have successfully bred and raised several babies that have been released into the wild. Great that birds that would have died if left in the wild are able to help build the wild populations back up.

Those are VERY great photos. Did you get really close or do you have a telephoto lens?

Thanks Wendy. I'm not good at judging distance. This bird island is somewhere between 30 - 50 feet away. The D7100 has the 1.3x option which gives my 55-300mm lens up to 600mm (according to the FXIF data) so no teleconverter is needed.

Yes Don, it is great that they are alive and reproducing, but it is still sad to see them caged up.

Had a picnic lunch at the park with the remote controlled stuff. I had just finished eating when huge drops of rain started hitting the picnic table. We headed over to the air field which has the only cover in the park.

Missed the landing, but not the crash - white spots = the rain
