@Chase_ , not sure what part of Dallas you are from, but you have city parks, the Zoo, downtown areas. Honestly anywhere you have you have camera with is a great spot.
What kind of shots are you wanting to take?
Sports, Architecture, Animals, People and the list goes on.
I'm going with my grandpa so it's kinda just anything and everything

If he is from the area then I bet he has some good ideas, you just need to decide on what you really want to capture. But it should be a good weekend to go to the Dallas or Ft Worth Zoo. Also, there is the new Perot Science Museum which you can always walk around downtown and take some architecture shots or people ( street photography) shots.
What are the best places to take pictures in Dallas Tx?

I'm sorry to be less than generous, and welcome to the forum, but my first suggestion is that maybe you need to sell your camera and buy some postcards if that is your first question of us.
Like I said, sorry.

Dude, really?! WTF?! You've never traveled somewhere for the first time? And did you even read the thread?! He's going there with his grandfather (of indeterminate age), so maybe it's not quite convenient to put on your explorer hat and just go roaming.
I swear, some times I just don't get people. Perhaps a more intelligent first question would have been, "What the hell is wrong with some of those guys across the pond that makes them so unbelievably surly all the time?"
