Day 40 Rose Quartz After

This stone is a Rose Quartz. It is only about 2cm. I wire wrapped it with silver wire. I would really like to get a better shot of it than this. I am using my AF-S Macro NIKKOR 60 mm 1:2.8G lens. How can I get a better shot of this tiny object.

For one I would prop it up against a black background. Orient it the same way you would if you had it hanging from your neck. Soft light from off camera.

Make sure to get the entire pendant into focus (check your depth of field) so that it is not soft anywhere. Your macro lens should do it well. Also, try using a zoom from farther away and see what the compression does for it.

No, I don't have Photo Shop. MM keeps telling me that I NEED to get it. But he refuses to pay for it for me!! LOL

Thanks Don, I retook the shot with your suggestions Mike, so I will upload the program and see what I can do. Thanks for all of the extra work you did for me.

You could always do the 10 dollar a month thing with LR5 and Photoshop.
Best way to try Photoshop in my opinion. I have been having a blast learning in Photoshop the last couple of days. If you can go that route I would highly recommend it.

Nice shots of the Rose Quartz.

Doug, That's what I think I'm going to do, MM has been telling me to just break down and fork out the 10 dollars. I am sure that there will be a learning curve for me. So I will be asking a lot of questions. Thanks for the suggestion.
