I'll need to check the EXIF info when I get in tonight, but from memory, this was with the 24-70mm at either 1600iso or 400iso...I remember changing it down when I used the built in flash. it was probably F2.8 with no AV compensation, however given the noise in the shot, I'm sure it was ISO1600 so that I could get the shutter speed up...could be wrong...

Hi Folks, a few years back I'd never imagin ever being on a Nikon forum...such a Canon fan boy that I was....but sold the 1DMK4 and lenses and just ordered a D800E with 24-70mm and 70-200mm....

Super excited, can't wait to see just how sharp the images are, and with an upcoming wedding, I have time to get used to the layout of the Nikon....

Any tips welcome....

I always wonder what would make a person jump from one company to the next with all their gear invested in a certain company. once I get over a certain amount of gear, thats it, its done. I stay.
1D4 is a very capable camera. why the switch? no wedding needs picture over 24mp. even 12mp is more than adequate.

Hey congrats, great choice and lens combinations, I just got the 70 - 200 and am enjoying it so far. I have a wedding in 2 weeks and it will be interesting, but with me being a hobbyist/amateur I am not expecting anything great lol.

stop putting yourself down Scott. with that mindset, youll start believing it. Just stop.
the 80-400 weighs more less the same and if you can get a steady shot with that, then the 70-200 is easy.
with your talent many can learn from you.

So, first outing with the D800E and 24-70mm today...just to a local farm to take some test shots with Wife and Daughter....

To say I'm asounded by the resolving power of this camera is a mild understatement....it picked up very fine rain drops....the dynamic range also....asounding.......I've only edited 2 shots and already I've had to stop to post here....
