Shouldn't he have put a small ruler next to those prints so that we would have a relative size to go by to determine what this suspect creature was?

While not a photo I shot today (already posted that), I did sit down and mess with this old photo of my daughter today. Wanted to sit down and start seriously working on my portrait editing skills. She had some crazy hair color going on at the time which has an interesting look.

It is amazing that you can take a picture of mud and make it look good! That is talent. I feel like I take pictures and you take photographs!

Thank you. Lots of practice and taking just stupid shots out of curiosity - Hmmm, I wonder what that would look like if I...

I've went through a number of shutter fingers and am currently on my third. :)

Thank you. The funny thing is that could have been the best, worst, or somewhere in the middle of the pictures I took a long while ago. I randomly grabbed a photo out of a folder and decided I was going to edit whatever I got and see what I could do with it rather than a cherry picked great photo. Looking at the photo, I think this was a test shot to set up since the background is so blown out.

Thank you for the compliment.

Funny, I have started doing the same thing. Trying to use what I have learned over the past few months I started re-processing some of our family shots from last spring.

I thought about the lack of claws but the mud was pretty fluid and may have absorbed it. Or it's a little foot.

I figured a good picture is easy to work with, but a random photo you don't know what you're getting the problems associated with it.

Very true. I actually had one printed and didn't like the crop, but I did it when I didn't know anything about cropping. I know, pretty basic, but still didn't have a grasp on it. You should post before/afters, I like looking at those and learning from it.

Day 37 - Perfume

Feedback greatly appreciated. I am trying new things, like last year, but at a higher degree of difficulty. That said, I decided to shoot this perfume bottle against a white background. Usually, I shoot against a black backdrop, but black is easy. White... white is a bear to get even. So here is a shot I did tonight with my new white backdrop. Yes there is too much around the bottle and the bottle is smack in the middle of the shot. This is all for the purpose of challenging myself to get an even across the frame white backdrop. So again, feedback appreciated. If I nailed it let me know, if I instead nailed my thumb then again let me know. (Nailed the thumb is a reference to missing the nail for those that might not understand the reference :) )

Well it is perfume so your shot can't stink! haha . . . . ahem.

Jokes aside, I am not qualified to judge how professional it is, in terms of product shots, but to me it is excellent and very appealing to look at. I find the slight base shadow pleasing and gives the bottle just the depth it needs.

Well I think it stinks....just kidding. Lighting is even except for the shadows around the base which does give it the depth it needs. It is now quite white on my monitor but I am on my laptop so it is not the best judge of color.
