I am still thinking about which one to take, might just be the D600.

The 600 is a very nice vacation camera. It's lighter than the 300-700-800 and it's in the middle of the road as far as resolution between the 700 and 800. It's nice to carry a lighter camera while exploring a new place.

I wish you a wonderful impressive stay. Don't forget besides taking photographs you should relax too. LOL

Thanks Michael, I should have no issues relaxing ;-) and I will have beautiful girls serving me drinks hahaha

Take plenty of candid shots! Have a great time.

Thanks I will :)

Have a great trip

Cheers

Safe and happy travels to you, Scott.

Thanks mate

Yeah I am really considering the D600 with out battery pack so its smaller, and I will probably only take my 16/35 and see how I go. I will not be wildlife chasing so it shouldn't be an issue. Will be more of a holiday than a photographic safari.

Hey Scott, the holiday sounds great, I'm sure you'll have a ball.
Just watch out for the fish and the local moonshine, they claim a few :eek:ffended:

Have you been to Bali before ?
I went there back in the '86, so things would have changed a bit since then.

No never been but mates have, I think I will stick to Bintang while there and will definitely watch what food/drink I consume. Should be an interesting trip.

Scott, you must also bring a portrait lens. Maybe your 105 macro or 90 (do you still have that Tamron?) You might find many interesting people to photograph.

Hmmm I could take along my 90mm macro aswell, then I would need my raynox and diffuser just in case too lol.

I found Bali to be a friendly place, and I think it still is, just have to watch out for that small element that has the hate on for Aussies and westerners in general.
When I was over there, I went by boat over to Java and travelled overland up and down the coast for a couple of weeks before jumping over to Singapore and north to Thailand. Java was totally different to Bali, and I had no desire to return.

That said, the world has changed since I was travelling regularly. Doesnt matter where you go these days, you need to keep your wits about you, and try not to leave to much to chance. Even at home in Australia.
