Re: Very sad news about my friend Dave Neukirch... Rancher

I was walking past my pool garden this afternoon, I spotted these new flowers and I thought of Rancher.

I hope it is fitting that I post a photo of them here.

From what I know about Rancher, he would have liked this shot. I believe that it's a fitting tribute to him.

My sympathy goes out to his family.

Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me. I am small and weak. I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset. Make my hands respect the things you have made and my ears sharp to hear your voice. Make me wise so that I may understand the things you have taught my people. Let me learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock. I seek strength, not to be superior to my brother, but to fight my greatest enemy – myself. Make me always ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes, so when life fades, as the fading sunset, my spirit will come to you without shame. - Chief Yellow Lark, Lakota, 1887 - Aho Mitakuye Oyasin!

Very sad news indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rancher and I had some conversations in the background here and he also came over to my blog once in a while. Great guy to talk with. May you rest in peace Rancher

I did not know Dave, but I am always saddened to hear of another's passing. He, I am sure, will be watching over the forum, and getting some great shots where he is now, probably the best that can be had.

I did post this on Ranchers 365 thread a few days ago when I first heard the sad news but I wanted to add the same here. He was a true gentleman who had nothing but kind words for others on this forum. As a newbie to the forum he was one of the members I felt supported and encouraged by and I'm sure a lot of other newbies have felt the same way. Salt of the earth as they say. RIP Rancher.

I just went to my profile, and under the last 10 people to view my page was Rancher. Makes me happy that someone as nice as him clicked on my profile.

I'd like to add that I have something from Dave that would last with me forever.
The second person to comment on my website with some good words as always, was Dave..
That will be with me forever

Thank you to all that have sent in a donation. Seriously, it will really mean a lot to the family. They requested that money be sent instead of flowers to cover their costs, so I will be mailing a check to them shortly. If you wish to donate, please see the link above.
