I should add, that Dave passed away early this morning and that nikonites was one of his favorite places to be.
I want to thank his sister Kathy for sharing this with us, and to say I wish sooooo badly that I was a better writer so I could put into words how I feel and to say how much I appreciated Dave's friendship.

i am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of rancher/dave. I am going to miss his pictures and comments.

I am so sorry to hear about Dave. He seemed like a nice guy. Rest in peace Dave. We'll miss you.

I never knew Ranchers real name, but I knew him as a friendly gentleman with a heart of gold and a passion. He will be sorely missed and my prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends. RIP Rancher I am sure you will be taking photos in heaven.

Well what a shock,he was a Gentleman of the first order we will all miss him and his posts,may he rest in peace,my condolences to his family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I obviously only knew him on here, but nothing but kind words and encouragement from him.

So very sad and shocking. I will miss his sunrises, he was always so kind and friendly. What a loss for his family

I was walking past my pool garden this afternoon, I spotted these new flowers and I thought of Rancher.

I hope it is fitting that I post a photo of them here.

Very sad news, my thoughts are with his family and friends.

It's hard to know what is going on behind the keyboard and screen, but looking at his posts and the numbers of "likes" given and received, this forum brought him a lot of happiness and friendship.
