Jake, I like them all!! Cannot hardly choose, they each draw me in with different features Nice Set!

Pat in NH

Who says you have to choose?! :) I see them as siblings of a sort, born within 30 minutes of each other, each one growing up a little differently.

As for the cracks, I'd have to check again, but I believe they all radiate out of the area where either the water is sourced, or perhaps local deer come in and drink. This was right next to the road and there was a single section of fence that was down right in that area, so couple that with the semicircular region being less frozen than the rest and I suspect that's where the stress cracks came from.

Looked to my left as I sat at a traffic light this morning, grabbed my camera from the passenger seat and squeezed off this one...

And that was after I grabbed these, figuring one of them would work for the day.

But how can you tell? Everything is crooked. ...the trees, the mountain skyline, the bridge is going uphill a bit... I'm not sure about that one. Convince me. ;)

Scott, you must be on your work computer as your version is way overcooked. I do prefer my meat be fully cooked :pig: but not HDR photos. ;) And what's with all the comments about crooked photos lately? The photo has a little perspective distortion going on--it's part of what makes the image IMHO. It's because the photo was shot with a wide angle lens. I definitely prefer the original just as it is.

Maybe Scott has some Dain Bramage from his scuffle with the youngsters :)

The hills do not lie...

They absolutely do. If I was looking square at them then they might be counted on, but given that they run away from they camera they do not necessarily form a flat horizon. Fact is, this shot was taken on a tripod where the camera level was checked in Live View before I took it. It was also exposed to highlight the frost. No edits required.

And this thread is about sharing, not critiquing, so if we want to hammer Scott for his edit we can ask him to move his post to the proper forum. ;)

We got about 2/3" of snow yesterday, and it never ceases to amaze me how it will melt in the rough on golf courses, but not on the fairways and greens. I suspect it has to do with the length of the grass underneath, and perhaps the density of the blades. Regardless, it makes for an interesting winter landscape.

Looks like your golf course is much better maintained than the golf course photos I posted last night. The grass in mine looked lousy at best, but it is simply a small public golf course. Interesting about the snow melting faster on certain spots. :)
