Everything worked fine right out of the box once I got the batteries in properly. I wanted to be able to use my flashes at the higher sync speeds so I decided to program them to do the extra options that are available and off I went. I found the USB port on the Mini TT1 and programmed it but could not find the USB port on the Flex5. No matter what I did the units would not talk to each other and fire the flash. After several hours vocalizing things that I will not mention here I ended up calling Pocket Wizard to get some help. He said all I had to do was program the Flex5 like I did the Mini TT1 and I ask him how that was possible without a USB port to plug into my computer. I had looked several times and couldn't find a port anywhere. He suggested lifting up the antenna and taking a look. Much to my surprise there was a USB port. I plugged it in and programmed it to the same channel as the Mini TT1 and amazingly it all works just fine now. By using the Pocket Wizards I now have a flash sync speed that will go all the way up to the 1/4000 shutter speed my D600 will go to.
A buddy of mine has told me many times over the years that "You have to be smarter than what your working on". Once I got a little smarter everything just seemed to fall in place and work just fine.
