Four new cameras have arrived!

As of today, I'm officially more than doubling my digital camera collection.

I've had my two D600 and a P7100 for a year now. Today, the Magic Brown Truck delivered the last of my four latest purchases..... S3500's all.

So I've gone from 3 digital cameras to 7..... at least until Saturday.

My neighbors, their kids & grandkids have unofficially 'adopted' me since my real family is 800 miles away. They invite me to all their family gatherings. In exchange, I take all sorts of photos for 'em just for fun. During an outing with their grandkids last fall, one of them was veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery interested in my camera. She then commented that none of them have a camera...... not even on their cell phones.

So, Santa's going to arrive a couple weeks late. We're getting together this Saturday to exchange gifts and have a traditional holiday meal..... and digital cameras all the way around for the kids! (parents already have one)

Since the kids don't have a camera(s) even on their mobile phones, it'll be a nice present to them. Though, this just reminded me of the latest developments in the technology - practically, the low end point'n'shoot category is as dead as it gets. The other day I showed some casual snaps to the friend of mine (a semi pro photographer). These snaps were taken by my Samsung S2 plus, and the friend just could not believe so (he thought they were taken by PEN). Of course, if I were shooting in the low light conditions and did a huge prints, the difference would bi more obvious...:encouragement:

Santa rocks! Even if he is a little late.

Well, it doesn't HAVE to be late - here, in Serbia, and some other countries commonly inhabited by orthodox christians, the New Year's eve is celebrated twice: on 31. December (according to the Gregorian, official calendar) and on 13th of January (according to the Julian, that is: ancient Roman calendar). So, just go on with giving the presents!:applouse:

Sparky, that says a lot about you... You made us all (me at least) feel very happy! I love to see the good in people, without expecting anything in return. Thank you... :)

I remember my first camera. I was an old German Folding camera that shot 620 film. I played with it for years.
You have given these kids a great gift. The love of photography.
