Bos tail strap

Looks like you removed the black plastic from inside the OEM ring.
So you use the BR hook right to that, first time I've seen that method.

Seems like it would bind as you move around?

Tapp'n on the go

I took off those rings first thing. I'm going to put them back and try this. If the camera swings into my hands correctly this is the solution. So simple! I'm going to be like Billy the Kid, practicing my draw.

Looking good so far, and one of my stress points removed: attaching my strap to a battery grip, not the camera's body. On my D7100 I have used the loop to the left (i.e. not by the shutter release button) as it seemed to get all on the way over there. Thanks Nikonites!

I just wanted to share my final configuration. Strap is made by Optech and sold by photoshop pro at $24. Pretty good set-up using my L bracket. The cushion is very comfortable and the sling can be extended by buying the extension straps. I think that this is a very clever design. It works for me and it doesn't affect the use of the tripod socket which I use quite frequently.

I guess those buckles are pretty stout Glenn. I just got the tether kit for my blackrapid, kind of the same concept. It does give a user a little more insurance.

Yes they are Kevin. I feel more confident using them since they are pretty snug. I like what you did with your BR strap since it adds that additional contingency should the hardware fails. I would even add a plastic tie strap just incase the metal swivel fails on your BR.

Don't want to see something similar from this guy.

Black Rapid strap failure?

Yep, read about that one story. I am very careful with it, just use the strap as support and don't let swing freely while walking. The kit came with another strap that I might run from the other lug, so 3 point connection. With both tethers I could disconnect the tripod mount and carry like the optech, just need to try it different ways.

Could it be for the 70-200mm lens foot?

Could be, been thinking about it. Might be a backup. I need to go watch their video again, I only remember them using one strap. I like the options the straps as well as the optech straps provide.
