This has to be the most uncooperative bird,got the closest yet today normally the first shutter fire makes them look at you well not him,i cleared my throat made clicking noises but he just wouldn't turn around.

I swear this cardinal thought we were playing "Marco Polo" around this telephone pole. I'd creep to one side to get a picture, he would jump to the other side. Finally got frustrated, snapped a shot and moved along!

I found this quite interesting, and tried an experiment. I quickly shot (very quickly) a clear crystal bell. First shot - in full auto - is uninteresting and not even useable.

So I tried lighting it from underneath with a small LED flashlight and balanced the bell on an old F-pro lens filter. f5.3 1/1000sec. ISO 6400.
Certainly not a great shot, but a definite improvement. Both were taken against the same blue wall. Almost, but still not good enough.......
