Different images, how to improve?

I been writing in another thread about my 50mm lens, I've been thinking if there were another lens which I would maybe use more, but still with the f/1.4. I do see the benefits of doing portraits with the 50mm, but besides this, I hardly ever use it.

Took it out yesterday and tried to photograph different things with it, but I think several of the images would have been better with the 35mm.

Maybe someone have a comment or 2 about how I could have improved some of these shots, still using the 50mm? Most are pretty much out of the camera, added contrast and so. The B&W got more work.

This is okay, I think. But that goes under 'portrait' I think:

I think the pics look great.

Regarding the pics with the sun... I like to take those kind of pictures, but they are very hard to get perfect. The sun and glare can overpower the picture and / or you get halos like the pic with the car. I always take taking multiple shots from slightly different positions and try different ISO settings. That type of picture can turn out great or not so great. I haven't found any technique that is fool proof. I swear sometimes it is just luck of the right shot at the right moment. :D

I am no expert but you take great photos with the 50mm I think you just need to work on composition at times with it like any other prime lens. But as I said I am no expert and take crappier photos all the time.

I think this one would have been better landscape mode and the road leading off from the bottom right to left.

Thats probably right. I did it further up the street, but couldnt decide if it should be color or bw..
I will try to think more about leading lines, thanks :)

This one all seems too central, not sure what it is ice/glass.

Ice on the street. Yes, maybe a lower aperture would have been better.

Ok yes, maybe its pretty overdone with the flares - I just really like them but could be great if they were another color, though. I will try to see if I can get more control over the flares. Thanks :)

But somehow I just find it easier with the 35mm? Or the wide, of course. But maybe Im just not trying enough.

Well there you go, see I told you I didn't know what I was talking about :)

My 2sec edit.

Your eyes knows ;) Yours is a bit overcooked, I went for a soft image, but I see your point thanks!
