Beatle Mania Lives

It still amazes me how popular the Beatles were and still are today. On Flickr my most popular image is a photo I took of the White Album to express the theme White Space. Immediate it was explored on Flickr and currently has over 19,000 views. Incredible, considering it's an image of a CD and inside album sleeve. I have much more interesting images on Flickr that never caught so many views.

Here is the image in question. I'm pleased it was so popular, but it really shows the power of Beatle mania and the strange popularity of images on Flickr.

Nice shot. It remains a fine album, though Revolution No. 9 remains a rather odd cut. :)

I miss LPs with their full size inserts of photos and posters, and of course their cover art. Interesting that the Beatles went with simple white when psychedelia was in vogue with many bands.

It's all how you tag things. I wonder how many of those came through search engines and not just folks wandering on Flickr?

It seemed most hits happened in one day, but I can't go back far enough to see the source references. The tags were pretty basic - Beatles, White, Album, Fab Four, band members names etc. Explored appeared to play a major part compared to all my images that weren't explored.

You are right about no 9. It was a great cover.
