Hello to all, I’m new to the forum from western Washington State. I’ll have to admit, finding this forum is a mixed blessing: It is a wealth of information in all aspects of photography and what little time I have spent reading I have made several minor tweaks to my camera that have greatly improved my low light photos.
And then there was the “oh darn” moment. (That might not be exactly what I said, but for mixed company it will do). About 3 years ago I was shopping for a digital camera and because of the price for the full sensor Nikons I settled on the D90 with the 18-105 lens, later getting the 55-300 and 85mm macro. All of this has served me well, but I have never been real happy with my low light, high ISO photos required when having to hand hold the camera, i.e. sun rises, sun sets and ambient light while on a tugboat. As I’m going to retire at the end of the year this will soon not be an issue.
So I was looking at the D7100 and was almost convinced I should buy it when 2 days ago the “ho darn” thing happened. The D600 caught my eye, a full sensor affordable camera with some issues and a replacement on the way.
So at this point I’m not going to do anything and see when and if the alleged D610 comes out.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it and thank you everyone for the wealth of information you provide.
Regards, John
