Great Shot! Love the detail in the feathers.

Thanks Alan. I shot this with my Nikon D600 using my 70-300VR lens. I put this lens up for sale after I purchased my D600 but quickly changed my mind and decided to keep it and I'm glad I did.

I just noticed that I had taken a picture just before the picture in post #1439 of him spotting dinner.

I just thought that I would add that each of these latest pictures are cropped very much and you are only seeing a small portion of the actual picture due to how far out in the water these poles with the birds on them actually are.

There are two Egrets that look a lot alike so I am posting this picture so you can compare the two. The bird in this post is a Great Egret and has a orange bill and black feet whereas the one in the previous post is a Snowy White Egret and has a black bill and orange feet and is a little smaller.

If they were both in the same pose and spread apart you probably would not even notice a difference.

I was sitting on a bench watching my granddaughter play on some slides at a little splash park we have in town. I had bought a loaf of bread so we could feed the birds and had it sitting on the bench next to me and all of a sudden my granddaughter started hollering grandpaw watch out!!! This little critter was under my bench trying to get the loaf of bread from underneath. I pulled out some bread and threw it about five feet from me a when he got the bread I got the picture.

Nice shot Jeff. Good thing you didn't mess around with him. He doesn't look too social nor tamed.

That's one good looking bird down there!

Just one comment on this bird picture Jeff. I like it but when I try to concentrate on the bird, my eyes still want to wander to the right upper corner where the ripples are. Try cloning them out just to see if it wouldn't improve the shot.
