Apparently the gators have managed to get through the wooden fence. Do you think this will keep them out??

As mentioned earlier, I got caught in the rain at Wako.

Thought I'd try some rain drops off the gazebo. Couldn't get back far enough so they may not be that great, but it's also my first attempt.

Yup, predawn. On camera flash not strong enough to hit them and then the rain came.

I like them anyway Marilynne... To Kodiak's point, could you possibly adjust white balance some to shift them whiter (without killing the rest)???

Just a though.... Great shots still... You know you are my bird hero (along with Grandpa!)

Thanks Pat. I don't shoot raw and ViewNX2 doesn't allow white balance adjustment for JPEG.

Kodiak, thanks for sharing that!! I never knew anything like that existed... Interesting ad. Pat in NH

Yes, it exists! I would not recommend it as is!

Hello Pat,

The whole thing is light and doing the job but it is too easy to loose or damage!
Spare parts are not cheap!

Since I really needed such a gizmo, after some thinking I came up with this
solution where I recycled an old tele accessory from the 45CT4 / Metz I do
not use anymore. This is my prototype:

The greatest feature of my idea is that the SB 900's head fits perfectly
in there. The grey part is there to assure proper alignment of the flash
beam with my 300 ƒ2.8 and 600 ƒ4.

Pat, I recently purchased a Better Beamer for my SB900. I tried it during mid day and I could definitely see a difference using it on a subject about 300ft away. It is light, cheap and will fold down and go in your bag easily. If you go to my 365 grampaws thread and look at the picture that I posted recently on Davis Bayou I was standing in the same place and took a picture of the trees on the far right, with and without using my flash and better beamer and it definitely made a difference the lighting of the trees on the far right side of the marsh.

Wow, that is some distance... I only have 700's, I realize my range will not be as good as yours but do you know if it will fit a 700 (smaller head)? Going to look up the unit now...

Sorry folks for the Hijack .. Thread Hijack Mode OFF! :)
