B&W software

I'm looking for Nik silver efex pro without buying the $149 package because it's all I want. I can't find it anywhere
as a stand alone. I don't have photoshop just Elements so a plug in won't work. Ideas?

I've been thinking about B&W software for a while, LR doesn't seem to give me the tones and contrast I'm looking for.

I'm a fan of plugins because they save me time but Lightrom can generate lovely black and white images if used properly. I learned my LR B&W techniques from this wonderful video by LR expert George Jardine:

Nik suite is awesome. You think you only need the B&W module but once you have the whole suite, you'll be using all of them. It's one of those things that if you don't know what it is, you don't know how much you'd use it but once you see it in action you're hooked. Viveza, Dfine and sharpener are an integral part of my workflow now.

Plug-ins do work with PSE. I have used Silver Efex Pro 2 in versions 10 & 11. When installing the NIK Collection, you should have an option to use in PSE. I have used these plug-ins with PSE10 & 11.

I do most of my B&W work directly in my RAW converter to obtain the right flat
rendition and to apply special "film type" effects.

For all other then these basic conversion, I use the OnOne Suite.

Have a good day…
