If just one lens.

I have the 35mm 1.8 and if there was just one other lens for most photos what what you all recommend. for travel landscape etc.

18-105. A serious workhorse of a lens. Most everything I shoot now is with that lens. Great close focus. Something like 18 inches. So pretty good for flowers and small stuff.

And at 18mm its pretty good for landscapes. 105 is also a good range for portrait.

While its true it isn't the best. At the price....its one of the best.

My 16-85 stays on camera 90% of the time. I feel it is the ideal lens for D7000 but my second choice would be the 18-105. It appears to be a true bargain. You won't go wrong either way.

I purchased the 85mm f/1.8g. It's mainly used for portraits since that's my niche. I'm thinking about getting the 35mm f/1.8g for wide-angle, but man, Nikon needs to make more wide-angle fast primes for DX. I'm not a fan of zooms; I tend to go for primes. However, there are disadvantages of primes, though - Having to switch lenses, but another body would solve my problem (don't have money, though).

ONLY one other lens....Impossible we all have an illness that wont allow this to happen...The 28-70mm F2.8 would be my choice..

I bought my lens with the thought of maybe Full Frame...[I had the 80-200mm & 300mm before the D3 was introduced}

I usually find myself switching between two lenses: 35/1.8 and 105/2.8, though i recently rented the 10-24 and 70-200/f4. I LOVED this last lens! Color was beautiful,
fast, quiet, good weight but not too heavy. I don't particularly like the 18-105. I have found my other two lenses, and the 50/1.4 to be more satisfying. I don't mind
moving with my feet when that is possible - when it is not, i will take out the 18-105. Frankly, i would like to purchase the 70-200 i mentioned.
