One More Lens

All I need is one more lens (I think), I already have Nikon Lenses 18-55 mm, 55 – 200 mm, 70 – 300 mm and my next lens will be by Nikon 80 – 400

I primarily take photos of landscape, old buildings, and animals. In Arizona, we have plenty of all three.

Black Widow spider is perhaps the deadliest. This is one of the top ten deadliest spiders in the world.

We also have the Arizona

Western Diamondback Rattler, The Mohave rattlesnake, Sidewinders, Speckled rattlesnakes, Ridgenose rattlesnakes are protected because of extinction. Massasaugan Rattlesnake, Twin-spotted Rattlesnake, Tiger Rattlesnake, Black-tailed Rattlesnake, Arizona Black Rattlesnake, Western Rattlesnake has venom twice as strong as the Arizona Western Diamondback, Rock Rattlesnake one of protected Rattle Snake by Arizona

THE ONLY TREATMENT FOR A SNAKE BITE IS ANTIVENOM ADMINISTERED AT A HOSPITAL, this will make you wish you were dead. I was bitten one time back in the 1960s, I was sick I thought I was going to die, my hand was always on fire. The doctors back then did not have all the remedies they have today. I remained in the hospital for three to almost four weeks. Do not believe the old wives tale about slicing the bite and sucking the venom out, it does not work.

Tarantulas, Gila monster, Arizona Coral Snake
A telescopic lens is more than perfect for taking these photos, although I love the wild life of Arizona.
Coyotes, Woodpecker, Raptors Bird of Prey. Bats
Big Game of Arizona and this where the telescopic is needed, especially with me in my Wheelchair
Coues Deer, Pronghorn/Antelope, Elk, Turkey, Black Bears, Mountain Lion, Bob Cat, Wild Javalina, Arizona Bison

Arizona landscape is all mountains, Cactus, desert and beautiful blue Skies and golden sunsets

Arizona has many Ghost Towns, Copper and Gold mines, closed downed old hotels, theaters, saloons, and jails most from as far back as the 1700s.

I had to sleep on your suggestion and then really think it over. I decided to go with a Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras

Now by getting this lens NEXT MONTH I will have all ranges covered/over lapping from 10 mm to 300 mm. The 80 - 400 mm will have to wait. Thanks again for the suggestion

Your very welcome, and I'm glad you found the lens you needed! I wish I could afford to get a couple of really good lenses myself. Lol :D

Still doesn't ring any bells, but if its simple construction element wise you stand a chance of some good images.

mike
I hope so. :) I figured it was worth a shot for about $50.00 plus shipping. :D
Here is a little more info on it.

Gently used Sigma 300mm f5.6 AI Nikon Mount Telephoto Lens.

Good body conditon, no glass damage, haze, or dust. Reasonably sharp at f5.6 but much better at f8

NOTE: This lense will not autofocus on any Nikon cameras. It is MANUAL focus only. 300 mm with full frame camera, a whopping 450mm with a cropped sensor camera.

It will mount with all Nikon digitals and should work on film camera too but double check. Will only meter with with Nikon D2, D3, D4 D800, D800E, D700, D600, D300s, D300, D200, D7000, D7100. It will not meter with D90, D80, D70, D70s, D50, D100,D5200, D5100, D5000, D3200, D3100, D3000, D60, D40, D40x

Here is a photo suppose to have been taken using this lens on a d7000.:)

I did not take this photo. It was used in the listing in order to show an example of what the lens could produce.

The thing is with cheap lenses they can perform well but all the other parts of the image need to be spot on before you take it,light quality, light direction, amount of detail and how obvious it is in fact many things,a top of the range lens whilst appreciating all the conditions being perfectly met can still perform well if some aspects are not.
My sigma 120-400 is a perfect example it has serious limitations (me being one) but most of the time it produces images that satisfy me on the pc screen and i would hope no one would put the quality of the lens before the image, with the mixture of lenses you have i for one am really looking forward to seeing some results.

I figure I'm the most likely culprit to blame if my photo doesn't turn out the way I wish it would. Lol :)
I've been shooting in JPEG since I just have a xoom to transfer them to. Also I've been fighting with resizing shots to get them uploaded, and getting
n error message when I try to upload. I think it's the app I have that is causing this issue. I can't upload the file without resizing due to being too big. Sigh..... I'm going to try buying a photo shop app for my zoom as soon as I have the money for it. Maybe that will solve the error message issue. I do have one shot of a spider uploaded in my gallery, you can check out. I'll "try" to upload an unaltered photo now in this post for you.

Woohoo! It worked! This was a shot I cropped on camera. So that must be why it uploaded easily! :D

SFC,

You're absolutely correct in that you only need one more lens. And after you buy that one lens, all you'll need is one more lens. ;)

PS. The spider was done with my 105mm all manual. No auto focus, and I had to set all the settings myself. My first spider, 1/4 inch long. :)
