I'm liking the D7100, I'm still intimidated by it.
I did something yesterday and couldn't get my focus point to change. I remembered grandpaw's tip to hit the OK button and the focus point should go back to center. That didn't work. Chris asked what I did just before it happened. I told him I turned the camera like this, took a picture and turned it back. I did it again and than I was able to move focus point. Weird.
I also touched something and got 4 photos showing on the monitor. That was frustrating! I don't remember what I hit to get it or what I hit to remove it.
I will figure it all out some day!!

Soon you will handle it very well
I know the feeling. I am still doing dumb little things with this 7000 then asking myself "Now what did I do?" Have to remember to learn by my mistakes and laugh it off.
Hi Marilynne,
I hit ok on mine and the Focus point goes back to center... must have been some kind fluke/glitch
Regarding the 4 photo's... if you reduce size it shows 4... increase size (+/-) it goes back to normal.. It happens to me offen if I zoom in and then zoom back out and go to far!!
If you are at normal and zoom out 1 (-), you get 4, do it againb and you get 9 pics.. once more and it feels like a gazillion!

The switch below the OK button with either lock or un-lock the ability to move your focus point. If there is no info displaying in your viewfinder, you will not be able to toggle your focus point. You have to press the shutter release button, which brings up the info and enables you to toggle your focus point.
Yes, the L. Not to say that you don't know your camera, but I was just wanting to let you know how that little feature works. There are a lot of buttons back there, lol. Funny thing is, Nikon changed them around on us! If you look at the back of a D80, you will notice the plus and minus buttons on the D7100 have been switched around! grrrrrrr! Anyhow, you will be able to do it all blind folded one dayAC, are you talking about the L? I may have done that also, but I don't know how I would have flipped the focus lock switch instead of just pressing the multiselector.
Like I've said before - there are way to many buttons to have to learn!

Thanks again for the info. I don't know my camera. I got it Friday and used it for the first time on Saturday. I been reading the manual, watching videos and reading tips until my head exploded. To much stuff to learn.
Yeah, there is lots to learn. Lucky for me, I have my D80; therefore, most of the buttons are layed out the same way and many of the functions are the same. Though, I am still referring to my manual, so it is never ending, lol.
Mom, I made it!

It's a conspiracy....... shhhhhhhI was just starting to feel comfortable with the D5100 when it ran out of film. None of the buttons are in the same place as the D7100.
Marilynne, I have seen many of bi-wing airplanes but that second shot of yours with the bi-wing bird has to be extremely rare. LOL
