Hi, not sure where to put this thread..

I can't find how to control notifications from this site. I'm getting thoroughly pissed off with the amount of spam being generated to my email from here.

Every thread i post in gets automatically added as a subscribed thread and then upon every new post in that thread the site generates an email to me.

I can remove these threads from my subscriptions, but how can i stop them being added in the 1st place. If i want to subscribe to a thread I'd like to do in manually as and when i want.

These are great forums, but the lack of a conventional control panel and the huge amount of auto-generated mail is annoying.

I'm sure i'm being blind.. but i have looked several times to try and find an area that control this. Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks.

I had the same trouble when I first joined up here. I cant remember exactly how I stopped the emails, but it was under the "My Profile" or "Settings" tab up in the top RH corner of the screen.

Edit-- just had a look, I think you go into 'settings', then click on "general settings" in "my account", there are settings in there you can change to stop emails coming.

Hi .. go into your "settings" (Top right of screen)

Find General settings on the left...

Under Messaging and Notification is a place to set Default Notifications ..

Hope this helps,

This is what i do, create a rule to direct all emails from Nikonites to a separate folder.
So all the notifications go directly to that folder instead of filling up your inbox

Is there any way to control how the old subscriptions behave?
It says am subscribed to 600 threads.. and i want to change the notification to one 'digest' per day instead of notification email or every post.
When i change this, it alters the settings for future subscriptions but doesn't seem to change the older ones..
So for new threads i reply to, i probably will get them as one email for all.. but for older threads, it still sends me one email per thread...
Am i doing something wrong, or do i have to manually sift through the 600 threads and change subscription type?

I think I found a way to do it. Go to http://nikonites.com/subscription.php This should give you a list of all subscriptions. Click on the Box at teh top right of the list and that will put a check by everyone of them. at the bottom of the list there is a drop down menu. Click on it and you will see a way of deleting all the subscriptions.

I had just done mine on some very old inactive threads so I hope I remembered all the steps correctly. This will at least get you in the correct area.

But doesn't that select only the ones displayed in the current page (10 threads)?
