This turtle was waiting to cross the road. This is a fairly good sized turtle. The white line is about 5 inches wide.

There wasn't any birds that I went down there for and the beach was mostly deserted as far as people go.

This blue heron caught me by surprise and I took a picture of it. I had so little time to take the shot that I didn't even know what it was until I looked at the back of my camera.

I try and make it a point just about every time I'm out and about and see someone in uniform to take the time to go over and thank them for their service and tell them they are greatly appreciated.

Actually, you're about six months early - Veteran's Day is in November.

This weekend I give thanks to and remember my brothers and sisters in arms that gave their last full measure of devotion to this great nation.
