fotojack,

What makes the Tokina 11-16 the better lens? By cheaper, I'm assuming that you refer to the lower cost, which I think quite highly of. Is the Tokina better optically? If so, how? Is at a DX size format lens, or a FX size format?

Thank you.

Lol fare enough... I just saw his name mentioned several times on this forum and its one of the first pages which pops up on google.... Im astonished by prices, there are very few used ones on ebay (Literally a handful), and most of them sell about 200 Dollars less than brand new... for just 200 Dollars difference might aswell get it brand new with warranty...

Ken is a master of Search Engine Optimization, that is why his pages are at the top of most Nikon related search results :)

Ken Rockwell is a dolt. The 24-70mm is an awesome lens and is the lens that will spend the most time on your camera. Before I picked up my D800 I used this lens on my D7000, works just wonderfully and if anything, is even better on a DX than an FX because it's catching only the sweet spot of the lens. So like I said, Ken Rockwell is a dolt....period.

Lol... Can I give you TWO likes ?
One for the first sentence and the other for the rest of the post :)

It's just a better lens :)
The Tokina 11-16, Nikon 12-24 & Sigma 10-20 are the best wide angle lenses for DX bodies...
The new Tokina 11-16 (Pro DX2) comes with a focus motor as well
