A noob question about taking sharp pictures

Maybe I missed it somewhere in previous post.
But turn OFF your VR setting on your lens.
Set sharpness to +6.
Also use 39 pt dynamic area setting.
Then your picture should look sharp.
 
VR off ONLY if on tripod. Focus setting depends on what you are shooting.

We can only give you general settings. Each photo is unique and there are no magic settings that will work every time. There are probably 50 different ways that the same picture can be shot and all look good.

Hello,

to tell you the truth I used 1 AF point and AF-S, I thought I should use that with a stationary object.

I tried to find the "sharpness" setting on my camera, but can't find it, not even in the manual. Can you please determine its location?

Shooting menu > set picture control, then get into one of the picture modes to see the fine tune settings. If you are using the paper user manual, maybe download the pdf version. It is easier to search for things.
