Got home tonight and neighbour yelling bears up in the trees behind field. Horses going insane I ran to get them safe then ran back to the house to grab camera but I had to change to 70-300mm because I'd been taking portraits of kids today. Also was too busy searching tree line looking for bears that were now down but not paying attention to settings :( Instead I found a big healthy and unafraid coyote but my shutter was 1/10 and I didn't even have my VR on! SO DUMB! So looked great in viewfinder but I'm so mad at myself now!

siamthai1 I think what makes this site so great (besides the nice people) is that they share their part of the world through their eyes which is wonderful. These are normal, not so exciting animals around here but royal nuisances when you have livestock so neighbour was watching bears through his rifle scope.... The "boring" normal creatures you see in your area would be exotic for us. I had to run to secure my animals before I could go back for my camera because while nice to see them in the wild not so great to find them brazenly searching for food along your fence line. My goats were very happy to see me :)

Monk Parakeet - there were two of them. By the time I got the camera out of the basket, one flew off and this one hid. They're using the cypress twigs for their nest.

Funny you say that, he was clearly safe but the Umpire wouldn't budge on his call. We did win. If you look at the top of the picture you can see where the kids glove didn't even touch him. You can make out the strips of leather hanging down.
