This looks like a special effect filter that is also built into Nikon,, sometimes called model filter, what process did you use to create this?

I don't like to do any alterations to a photo "in camera" so that I keep my options open when I sit down to edit. For this particular shot I simply added a blur mask to give it a tilt shift like style.

haha - I'm actually headed back to this location very soon with my D800 to do some HDR versions of this shot.
