Hey everyone, I'm Jay. New to any kind of Nikon forum, so I hope to learn a bit from everyone. Currently shooting with a d7000 and hoping to upgrade to FX (Not too thrilled about the d600(oil issues) or d800 (huge files/slow fps) Been getting the itch to get something and thinking of a new lens (tokina 100mm f2.8 macro).

Hi Jay and welcome to this fine forum.

The D600, which I have owned for about a week or so is a great camera! Don't let the dust issue sway you. It gets way less over time. I have seen a vast improvement in the short time I have owned it, about 750 activations. I plan on doing a wet sensor cleaning for the one or two spots and will more than likely not see them again for quite a while. The quality of the photos re just too good to let a small thing like dust to put you off. It will eventually go away.

Thanks for the input, Which camera were you upgrading from? I made a huge leap back in 2010 from the d3000 to the d7000. I was kinda looking to do the same with this. I know it's a step up, but it's just so much money right now for a body lol. I have glass that I'll probably keep for a long time, just undecided I suppose. If I do ever get the dust issues from the d600 I live a mile away from nikon and usually have a 24 hr turnaround with service, My local nikon rep has been telling me they are replacing a majority of cameras with the dust issues with new ones and cleaning the dust off the others and selling as refurb.
