Art from India

dsc_wlp-5.jpg

I realized recently that i love art. All forms of art - painting, drawing, photography, etc..
Something about sculptures really enthralls me.

This above sculpture, is hand carved, on 3 separate blocks of Teak Wood, each 10ft X 2ft joined together.
Made by 3 craftsmen in around 10 days.
To add, it is the main door of a home

that is beautiful. I managed a web hosting company for a few year and the staff was in India. I got the chance to get to know several of them and learn a lot about the country. I want to visit India to see all the wonderful sites.

Very conveniently she crawled into my Tshirt and fell asleep in the blink of an eye..
Slept soundly like a new born puppy for 2 hours... ;)

ARE WE ALONE??

VIEW HERE - http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/3601/dscwlp13.jpg

This image is very special for me.. (I have re-posted this is from the critique section as not everyone goes there)

Please do visit imageshack and view the pic.. i have intentionally left the image as a small thumbnail cos even a full sized image here is not displaying the colors correctly.

I think it's quite brilliant & you won't be disappointed.

HIMALAYAS - UP CLOSE & PERSONAL Series: 01

I revisited my last year's trip to Himalayas which i had just lost track of
We had gone on an 'Aerial View' of the mountain range. The first pic in the page was taken from the plane & so are the following ones...
All shot with the 70-300 on the D5100 through the dirty scratched windows of this vehicle (was barely a plane.. just a few parts put together. A 1990 ATR would be Concorde compared to this)

HIMALAYAS - UP CLOSE & PERSONAL Series: 02

This is a wide angle view of the same side of the range...
The clouds looked so full, that for an instant you would forget that you are 10k feet high in the air... Looks like a carpet of cotton
