I took this image of a snipe fly using my favorite macro setup; a PB-6 bellows and 50mm f/1.4 AIS mounted reversed. They are not the most colorful of flies, but they sure are furry! This fly was only about 5mm long. The magnificaition on the D700 sensor was about 3x and the depth of field I am sure was less than a millimeter, in spite of using an f/16 working aperture. Effective apertue, which takes bellows extension into account, was in excess of f/22 so I needed a lot of light in the light tent.
