I just started a new group for those of us that love the D300/D300s! This is such an awesome Nikon model that I figured it deserved to have a group of it's own!
So if your a D300/D300s owner or just love this Nikon model, then please join up and help show others what an awesome camera this Pro DX camera is! :D

You can find it HERE! :D

I may be joining the D300 club soon. I don't think I'm going to spend the money on the D7100. My central air just went out in my house, plus I need some roofing repair done, and all this after I just spent 700 dollars to get my wife's car fixed.::what::

Thanks Bill. If I may ask a small favor from you. Since you have both the 3100 and the D300, if it is not too much trouble, and whenever you have the time, could you post up some shots taken with both cameras at ISO 1600.

Could you also make both the same image and the same exact settings . I never go above ISO 1600 with my 3100, so I'm not really concerned about higher settings.
Thanks bro!

I'll try to get that for you buddy. But I've heard the D300 gets noisy when you go over iso 800.

I joined up Bill :) The D300 was a turning point for Nikon along with the D3 as it over took Canon in just about every way and since it's release only small improvements have been made, namely to ISO performance. It's go everything an aperture needs and most of what a pro would want. Unless you are shooting pro sports or maybe concerts you really don't need the very high ISO's newer cameras can use and with the editing software that's around now noise can be hugely reduced in post anyway. I spent a large part of my pro career shooting with Canon 1DmkIIn's and III's and can say from the experience of sitting next to D300 users at football games (soccer for my colonial friends! lol) that the D300 was much better! I just picked up a pro level camera with everything I need with 17500 clicks for just £350 so before anyone goes looking at newer cameras I'd highly recommend giving the mighty D300 a good hard look :)
