Adobe lens profile downloader

If no one has heard of this I just stumbled across it myself, it is a program that allows you to download certain profiles for a lens and camera combination. I just got one for my D800E and Rokinon 14mm 2.8.

This is the Mac version.

Adobe - Adobe Lens Profile Downloader : For Macintosh

Windows version - they look the same.

You will also need Adobe AIR to install (well I did)

That raises a question... Doesn't LR already include those profiles? Or am I missing something??? Or does LR only "see" the profiles that have chip data in the lens which subsequently becomes part of the EXIF data, and NOT see lens profiles that don't record their presence???

I am presuming that only some lenses are included in the basic profile kit and maybe people add their own to the Adobe profiler where you can then specify which ones to add. Mine definitely did not have a Rokinon or Samyang profile included.

This sounds right. Here is a link to Lens profile support in Photoshop, Lightroom, and Camera Raw and when it was added for each lens. It notes that you can also use the Downloader Tool for lenses not listed that a user has created a profile.
