re: #12

Hi Barbara,

Try this: all the picture in B&W but the butterfly in colour!

The red is…, but I miss the brown tones of the insect!

Not quite 'wild life' - was taken in a small butterfly house in North Somerset. I majorly under exposed and managed to salvage them  Lucky..

Hello Marilynne,

You've got you're own lovely way with these fragile beings! I really dig the
way you look at them. I believe, though, that the rendition is a tad too shy!

May I propose you this one that I rendered scrupulously "to nature" given
the light conditions.

Thanks for brightening it up Kodiak. When I do that I tend to overdo it, so I usually back off.

Hi Marilynne,

Try first to go back to your memory… was is so dark or so pale?

Basically, all I did was to adjust the levels (the first and easiest way to bring a
photo to a good rendition).

Do it with the other pict of yours in your last post, and compare the results!

Have a good time!

Re: Lets see your Moths & Butterflies

Think this is a hummingbird moth.. extremely hard to capture in focus. Fairly low light, hence the high aperture. (60mm, 1/1250sec, F4, iso 3200)

In my garden yesterday.

Excellent shots. As you say, they are extremely difficult to get into focus as they never land. Had a few near misses recently.

Surprised nobody's offered one of these yet. Male Red Admiral.
