My lens arrived yesterday, it was late in the afternoon and full overcast but I had to try it out !
D7200, 200-500mm @ 500mm, iso 2000, f8 on a Jobu gimbal. Full frames...
Woodpeckers armpit
This one caught me by surprise, I've rarely had a problem with being "too close" !
Redpolls..
Cheers, Don

You have to love the shutter speed in the EXIF data for this shot!

This is my first-ever posting of the moon. Actually, it's the Christmas Moon.
I had problems focusing. I tried AF, AF with manual adjusting, and just M.
I kept getting a big bright white pie in the black sky.
Finally, I held the back button focus (thanks Don) and clicked the shutter.
The result was much better.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
You might try lowering ISO to 100 and stopping down a bit. If you're hand holding, this might be a problem. Most of my moon shots end up around 1/60 sec. or slower. Plus, your shot might also benefit from some PP. Too cloudy here in STL to grab a shot tonight - Merry Christmas.
What metering mode were you in? Moon shots I use spot metering. This is my first-ever posting of the moon. Actually, it's the Christmas Moon.
