Google Maps Street View is starting to drive down residential alleys recording.
The alley at my house is not on line yet, but this is across the street from me:
The camera is high above their car, and it sees over the fences. That's a shadow of the camera on the ground. I choose a real plain show-nothing view here, but you can see a lot of things if you drive the Street View around in the alleys. So far, coverage seems wide spread in one direction from me, but not yet in the other direction.
I don't see any point of this, it appears to be only a security threat. I am told we can click the Report a Problem, and request our address be blurred out.
I don't know how wide spread, but at least in area of the Dallas suburbs.
